Hi all,

Here is the first dirty pics of my lathe - fun to make a mess. The Delta is a fun lathe to turn on... I love the variable speed! This is my third lathe and definitely my favorite.

Oh yeah... needed a bonker for setting the drive center into wood. I had some scrap that I originally thought was maple but is probably pine (at least according to the scent as I turned it).

So, anyway, here she sits.

Nice!

Thats the lathe I used in the bowl turning class I took last week. The variable speed is pretty nice.

Congrats and nice bonker. With pine you may have to swing a little harder with the lighter wood. :)

You da man, Jon! NIce set up. I too love that VS thang. MY bonker is the very 1st thing I dragged to the finish line last yr when I got the HF mini.... ugly as all get out, but bonks well. Turned it out of 4x4 construction grade pine. I shoule probably make a newer one.
You just about have all the accessories needed to stay in that shop for weeks!
Happy turning,
mj

Thats a pretty fancy bonker. Good job and congrats on being addicted. They talk about the vortex, I guess that is what sucks the money right out of my wallet....but it is so fun and rewarding.

As a reminder, when you turn wet wood, make sure you clean your equipment off good when you are done so it doesnt rust. This is especially important in the summer (when the humidity is high).
