I noticed last night that one of my year old LED light strings has a section that has gone out. Any ideas on how to find the offending bulb? The bulbs aren't in sockets so they can be removed and all appear to be hard wired (no plug in lamp sockets). I don't think you can use one of those light string zappers that are used for the older mini lights.

they have to be replaced as a complete unit.

A friend gave me some strings of LED lights. The first thing that happened is the plastic covers to make them look like larger bulbs filled with water in the rain. Then when it froze, they popped off. Finally, the water got into the wiring and caused the leads to corrode. I switched back to the little strings of incandescent lights. I use them to light the path from the house to the shop.

Not necessarily.... I have four strings that I bought at a different store that have replaceable bulbs.
