I can find tons of information on old woodworking tools but practically nothing on other types of tools. Things like wrenches, pipe threaders, vises etc. My "other" tools are just as serviceable as any of my woodworking hand tools but I just can't seem to be able to find out anything about them.
Does anyone have an idea where to look on the web for information?

You could try some of these:
http://www.yesteryearstools.com/Yesteryears%20Tools/Home.html
http://www.practicalmachinist.com/vb/index.php
I am not too familiar with the Practical Machinist site, but if any place will provide a lead, that might be the one.
http://www.roseantiquetools.com/store/page138.html
Rose antiques list some historical information on tools.
http://www.collectibledetective.com/s/59/antique-tools.html
Getting results from a search will depend on how you search. I tried a few different terms.
collectible Crescent tools
collectible old trade tools
were a couple of the terms used. Eventually a link will pop up and then it may lead to other searches.
It may also be that there just are not as many people collecting old Ford wrenches as there are collecting old Stanley planes. But, searching for old Ford wrenches may lead you to people who do collect old machine tools.
