Sold my fist bowls for what I think is a fair price.
This guy from work wanted to give both sets of parents a bowl for Christmas. He picked two from a book I showed him and gave me a couple of pieces of mesquite to make a natural edge bowl and wanted the other out of walnut. I started with the mesquite and it was to far gone so I informed him and he said ok.
2 days ago he called and when the 2 bowls would be done because he is celebrating early this year. "
WHAT!!! I told you that the mesquite was no good"
"OH, I thought you would just use something else"
"OK, I will come up with something.
Out to the shop I go, cussing under my breath because I no idea what to do or if I even the piece of wood I needed for a natural edge form. 5 hours later I walked to house with both bowls. The walnut one had been done except for buffing, and NE bowl had the coat of tung oil on it.
PIC. 1 walnut bowl 11.75" x 3" with 3 coats tung oil
PIC 2&3 are natural edge 10.5" x 4"
End of Story - he loved them both and I got a check for $190.00
