Hay anybody used the 3" and 6" extension rods on a 7" or 9" Tite-Mark? Do they work well, or should I just go for a panel gauge on wider boards?

I have those extensions but don't really use them. At wider distance, it's harder to score a line without using both hands. The small contact area with the reference edge also makes it a little tippy with the extended length. I think you'd be better off with a panel gauge.

Tri has a good point.

Have you tried much marking with your gauge fully extended?

If this is comfortable for you, then maybe the extensions would work. For me, it does not work well, so longer would not be any better in my opinion.

Making a panel gauge may be your best bet.

I have the extensions and don't use them much as they are hard to use for marking. Get a panel guage if you want to mark. However, I do use them for marking or checking distances when needed and they are OK.

It works better if you roll it at that point, but I wouldn't want to use it with extensions.
