Can anyone recommend a supplier for figured Western Big Leaf Maple? I'm in Northern Cal, but will probably go up to Oregon if needed to pick it up. Looking for several hundred bd ft of 8/4, preferably dry. Thanks, Brian

I made a lumber run last month, and was treated very well by this guy. He has some incredible figured maple and walnut. Check out eBay item number 350293042704

Another supplier you can try is Whitethorn: http://www.whitethornconstruction.com/hardwoods/ They specialize in California native hardwood.

I'm a big fan of Bell Forest Products. They're having a very good sale on curly maple right now (I paid a little over $3/bf). A 'few hundred bf of 8/4' will likely $1ish to ship to CA. Not sure he's got 8/4, though.

Prashun -I've used Bell before and they had some nice wood. I think it is primarily curly hard maple, but I'll check their site out and see.

Mike- I've bought a bit of turning wood from JX3 Hardwoods via Ebay, but he seems to focus on instrument grade maple at premium prices. Was he less expensive when you went up there? I've found a couple potential suppliers that are in the $4-$6 range /bd ft for nicely figured 8/4.
Thanks, Brian
