If one either has a bandsaw, or knows someone who does, here is a way to recycle those old bandsaw blades. Take the old, worn out blade and break it into lengths about a foot long. After you get a bunch cut up like this, tape the ends together. Now you have a nice rasp. Tip: stagger the teeth a bit for better results. Depending on the type of blade, you can have a nice course rasp, a "fine' tooth rasp, a narrow "rifler" file, or even a wide one. Tese will flex a bit, depending on how wide the blade was. Recycle, reclaim, re-use.:cool:

I've heard of people doing this with hacksaw blades to make a "float" for smoothing the insides of plane bodies.
