A few of the ornaments I recently made. These included a couple where I experimented with some dye. The one on the left is box elder and Bradford Pear with the finials of Ipe. The one in the middle is maple with a Sweetgum roof. The one on the right is zebrawood with a Bradford Pear roof.
Thanks for looking.

I like them all. Making some myself but doing shorter roofs. I kind of like the taller ones and I think my next ones will be similar to yours.

Nice shapes Mike. I like the variation on the Dale Nish forms! I've yet to try those...

Nice job, Mike! I really like the form of the middle one - looks very balanced. Neat dye effect on the roof of the third one, too.

Mike, those are some great looking houses. I've made a few, and they can be addictive.

Mike - nice work on all the ornaments! Really like your dye experiment! One of those times when a little bit works well!

Nice looking ornaments Mike. I actually googled how to make one today. Found several different guides. An interesting one by Dale Nish but it looked kind of involved unless you wanted to make a lot of them. I was just thinking about one.:)

Thanks for all of the kind replies.

Don, I used trans tint dyes mixed in water at a friends shop.

Baxter, the two piece ornaments I made following the plans I found on the internet. You should be able to find the same pdf if you do a search on “Bird House “ Tree Ornament by Eugen Schlaak. There are a lot of plans out there but his approach is a lot simpler than many.
