this started out as the ugliest piece of wood ever, but for $1.50 i rescued it from Klingspor's bargain bin :D
almost 3" high just under 6" wide

finish is BLO and 2 coats of gloss WOP don't think i'm going to shine this one anymore as i kinda like it low luster
what do you think?

Don, looks like a piece of maple to me, and it actually has some character to it! I like the form on this one - nice utility bowl.

You sure brought that piece of wood back to life. Looks like a good keeper for showing peanut shells, etc.
I like low luster too for most of what I do. Also doesn't show where you may have left a few sanding steps out as much!:D

Nice bowl there... and I like the finish. Almost looks "old timey" worn shiny. Keep em coming!

Really a nice bowl. I do like the finish and form. Will make a nice utility bowl.
