This box will be the box for the real present, then it can be used a a jewelry night stand thereafter. A box with a lid that is meant to be opened, IMHO, call for shorter, stockier finials. 4.25 x 10 Died cherry base, Antique Oil, Indian Sand Tre-Wax friction finish, then buffed. Thanks for looking.

Nice looking box, I really like the shape of this one. Would that be a little golden surprise setting on the lid?

Good looking little box. Kinda of a sneaky pete there with a new surprise.

Very pretty, very unusual form, and a nicely turned piece on gorgeous wood!

All right, I'm a sucker for Walnut, but that being said, that is a beautiful box. Nicely turned, proportioned and finished. Well done!

I like it, Dan. Everything about it is different from what I have seen, and it all works! Beautiful finish too!

Very different! Nice shape to the pedestal, and a very interesting form to the box. I agree on the need for a shorter, more beefy finial on something like this. Great finish.

Nice job... not sure if length is a problem. It has a nice flow all the way up. Looks like a romantic ambush!
