View Full Version : Hooking up SDE MP-09 Magnetic Starter

I have tried contacting the manufacturer of this switch, but they are either very slow in responding or don't have an documentation for the product. It looks to be a standard magnetic starter/switch but I am stuck on which two lines of the three to put my load onto.

The L1 has a set of wires that run through to what I believe is the overload protection. And L3 is bridged through to what is labeled as '7' and over to the black plunger switch (lines up with the green on push button).

Logic would say that both of these need to have power to them, but I am not an electrician and have never hooked up a magnetic switch before and don't claim to know what I am doing.

Does my logic seem rational, and will I blow something up if I am wrong?

Thanks for any help.

Matt.

This might help. Scroll down the Pg 46 for the diagram.

thanks for the link. From looking at what Grizzly uses, the switch I have would use the L1 & L3 as well. My links are slightly different, but for the most part, it looks like the Heater/cutoff is run through the L1 and the magnet is energized through a switch on L3.

thanks.

Matt.
