http://www.sawmillcreek.org/picture.php?albumid=508&pictureid=4586i would have tried a hollowform with this piece and actually started to attempt just that however i quickly discovered that you really do need more than a hunter round carbide finish tool to really make that work well
its undercut as much as i could with the tool limitation i had at the time

Sure is a lot going on with this wood!! Don, I see a hollowing rig in your future!;) Randy Privett is waiting on your phone call!:D My Monster rig is the best turning tool I own - well, besides my Thompson gouge!

Very busy and lovely burl there. Interesting form finished very nicely.
So far, the only special hollowing tool I use is Sorby's gooseneck - works well but is a bit rough on my tired shoulder. Also looking at the hollowing rigs.

Interesting form and the finish looks good. Wood definitely has some things going on. That burl is some nice stuff.

Very creative form. I could spend a lot of time just looking at the figure in that wood. Nice!
