I'm not sure what section this belongs in but a will start here. I am building a mantle clock and need a movement with a short pendulum lenth about 7" from center of hands to center of the pendulum. I would like a mechanical movent if possible. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I could find one. Thanks

I have had very good luck with Klockit. They have even punched out a dial for me to fit the mechanical movement I bought. It's a triple chime about 20 years old and still keeps good time.:)

I have also been very happy with Klockit. Very fast delivery, a well stocked catalog, and a bit more than just clocks also.

I have had excellent results with both klockit (as others have mentioned), and with Murray Clock Craft (http://www.murrayclock.com/).

Both have a reasonable variety of clock movements, both seem to insist on selling only the best, both have given me excellent customer service.

Dave,

PM Bernie Weishapl who hangs out in the Turners Forum. He has a business repairing/restoring clocks and I'm sure he can give you some good advice based on experience.
