I like how it's $179,999.99 and not a cool, even $180k...

at least now I know what to tell people when they ask me what I want for Christmas.

Wow , I always heard buying sets of bits isn't a good value. Now I see why!

I wonder if they'll honor competitor's coupons? I know I have a "$10 off" Woodcraft one kicking around somewhere.

What a deal! Just ordered 3 sets to give as gifts.

I have to wonder, how many of these sets are ever sold. I mean, who privately has a couple hundred grand to spend on router bits? It's absurd. Corporately, who would sign off on such a purchase, when for the most part, it's completely useless? A business needs a couple dozen sizes, and lots of them. Not thousands of different bits. In fact, same for the hobbyist, although not so many of each!

It's like Ford selling a single piston of every size they have in stock. Utterly, utterly useless.

I think it was a joke, man.

Hmm, I don't know. LRH recently went belly up. I do know the Magic Moulder part of the business was bought up and will be still available.

Similar deal?

I also think it's tongue in cheek. It says after the great offer on their bit set.

"Or we can build custom sets and custom tools to your exact specifications.

For standard tools or custom tools, for one tool or a thousand we are your best bet."

I kind of like it. It's a funny way of saying they probably have any bit you could need and if not they will make it for you.

Just my 2 cents on the subject.

John, I don't know about the coupon, but it does say they'll 100% price match.

I'm pretty sure that's a real offer.

No wonder American Companies cannot compete.

I just look at it as a form of advertising. Got your attention, didn't it?

No wonder American Companies cannot compete.

? I agree the chances of anyone or any institution actually buying this particular deal but IF one actually needed all the bits they are indeed top shelf bits and priced well. Tooling is one area of our hobby where North America (as well as parts of Europe) has yet to be buried by lower quality mass produced Chiwanese imports.

Then I'll figure out how to explain to my bank about a 2nd mortgage on the house for a large lot of router bits and accessories. Just not sure how blank of a look I'll get from my lending officer.:p

Probably should just ask Tom Walz if this is for real. I believe it it his company, he is a friend of the Creek and posts here often.

I think this has got to be a joke. At $180,000 (I agree with Dan) and 3530 pieces that is about $51.00 per piece. They are saying that is package price and you are saving 10-large off the "regular price" and 75-large off the retail price if sold individually. However, a spot check of their site seems to indicate that the average price of their bits is something in the $20-30 range. They have a set of 8 for $168 or about $21 per. Now, I know average is a really course measure (you can drown in a river that is an average of a foot deep :) ) but it is enough to make me think it is a gag. Either way, their site is getting eyeballs as a result of it.
