Is there a way to keep purpleheart purple??? new to finishing i only know stain and polyurethane. :confused:

Purple heart will eventually darken to a dark brown with little trace of purple. A finish with UV protection such as a marine varnish will slow the process down.
The more exposure to daylight, the faster it will turn.
Plan on refinishing every 5 years or so.

Ive had good luck keeping it purple by using a waterbased finish like Minwax Polycrylic. I did a couple purpleheart boxes 4 or 5 years ago and the still have that 'cuda purple.
