I haven't posted in a while and really haven't had much lathe time in the last 3 months.

The Long Click is becoming one of my favorites because it really showcases the timber.

This pen is wearing a semi-local invasive shrub that is primarily in the Western side of WA but can be found in the Panhandle of Idaho called "Scotch Broom".

Didn't have time to dip the pen in my Waterborne Polyurethane so this is four coats of Med. CA and buffed with Brasso.

The sap wood is yellow and the reflection is like deep pools of sunlight.

That's some pretty looking scrub wood ya got there.:)

Reminds me a little of the weed tree around here - Mimosa.

Ron,

Nice pen. The wood has a "warm" feeling to it.

I just turned my first Click pen and it won't be my last!

Nicely done Ron.

Ron for some reason I didn't realize you hung out here also. Maybe I did know and sometimers has set in. That is a great pen, beautiful wood and superb finish. I'm a big fan of the long click, it is actually my favorite carrying pen followed to the PSI Vortec.

Ron,

Neat Click Long Pen I agree it displays well. Deep colours hard to picture yours is great. My spell check just told me colours is wrong but I know better than to spell colors.:D Good also to see you get around.I am coming out of the dark side now and look forward to more making.

I grew up in western Washington and in the spring that weed would send me into an allergic reaction. One of the things I do not miss about the wetter Washington.

Nice job!

Thanks all for your kind words ...

Peter glad to hear you're feeling chipper ...

Paul ... I read a lot here and post little

Jim ... I have some mimosa but never turned any of it. The other invasive weed or shrub that turns nice is Texas Salt Cedar.

Tom ... you can get the Long Click (shucks ... don't know if it's ok to post links) so google either laulauwood and look for "Click" under the ball point kits and this one happens to be Rhodium (also in Black Titanium, Titanium Gold. The other place is Craft Suppiles USA and look for "Clicker Pen Kits" (also available in Black Titanium and Chrome).
