Came home from work last night to find a nice pile of logs at the end of the driveway. Three different trees in the pile. One is cherry, but the other two I am not sure about. I think it is Elm and Black Birch. The Elm is 8 to 11" in diameter. The Birch is 16+.

Last one certainly looks birch-ish. Do you have some sort of arrangement with a local arborist?

The first one looks like elm, can't help with the other.

I have a couple of arborist that will either drop stuff off or let me pick through their log yards. I have found that all you have to do is ask. Alot of these guys are happy to give away logs and such. Giving them a nice bowl in return never hurts.

If you need some logs, let me know, I have plenty.
