I got some fruit juice splashed onto my new stereo head unit and the buttons are sticking. How do I clean them? I don't want to have to take it in for warranty work, but if I have to I have to. Thanks.

Rubbing alcohol-Q tips, cotton swabs, and maybe a toothbrush.

+1 with the alcohol...or maybe contact cleaner

Don't think warranty will cover a sticky substance in the buttons. Alcohol is good. WD-40 might be good too. I'd say some canned air, but that might push the sticky stuff further inside the unit. Maybe a vacuum on the outside sucking the stuff back outward? What ever you use, don't turn the unit on until it has plenty of time (overnight?) to dry out. Jim.

If the head unit has a removable faceplate you may be able to buy a replacement one if all else fails.

The difficult part of the repair is getting the alcohol or contact cleaner under the buttons to clean out the sticky stuff. A call to a place that installs car stereos might be helpful.

The alcohol loosened them up nicely, and I'll let it dry overnight. Thanks!

That's funny, I thought alcohol couldn't dissolve sugar. I would have opted for the WD40.
