I received the last of the prizes today and I feel like Christmas came early for me. These prizes are all fantastic and are much appreciated.

Thanks to Doug Thomson of Thompson Tools for the 2 awesome gouges. I am waiting for some special wood so I can make handles for them.

Thanks to Sean Ackerman of Toolnut for the Hamlet bowl gouge. Another great tool from England! Looks to be of great quality.

Thanks to David Woodruff of PD Woods for the custom 6" tool rest. Its super heavy duty and has already seen some good use.

Thanks to Jeff Nicol of The Wooden Nicol for the awesome Steady Rest AND the bonus of 2 wood blanks. Looks indestructable. It will be getting used very soon.

Thanks to the moderators and Sawmill Creek for putting on the contest.

And finally thanks to all who took the time to look at and vote for ALL the entries. We had nothing short of excellent entries in all catagories. I feel incredibly humble to have been recognized in my division. Thank you all.

:)

A whoppin' big congrats, Scott!!! But, that "5th Wheel" on that steady looks a little "pointy" - don't forget to take that thing off!;)

Good thing you didn't win just one more prize - not enough hands!:D

Scott,
You deserve them. Great entree and though they wasn't entered in the contest, the flowers you showed after the contest still have me looking back at them.

When can we expect some awesome spindle or other work that you'll use that fine steady and all those new tools on?
Merry Christmas...early. Again, well deserved from the contest!

Tim, I bolted the steady rest on the lathe last night to see the fit and just to play around with it. Fits on the ways like a glove and its rock solid once I tighted up the bolts! I also played around with the sliding bars to get them sliding super smooth (had a little paint build up inside the holders, so no biggy) applied a little oil and tadah its ready to use. It even has its own nail driven in the wall above the tailstock for a display/storage spot! If time allows, I will be cranking up the lathe for a new turning that a steady rest is needed to finish.
