Does anyone own a TRC 001 ? I am trying to find out how large the opening in the base is. Will it take a 3 1/2" dia bit ?

The plunge router specs on the Triton website shows 2 11/16ths plunge depth and a review shows the throat opening "Throat opening just over 3 inches".

Another reviewer stated:

The base has an opening 3.125" in diameter. The opening in the dust shroud is only 2.125" in diameter but it is not flush with the base so I think you could use a horizontal panel raiser even with the shroud installed.


If you need 3 1/2 inches, you might be able to remove the lower face plate and make one with a bigger opening. It has the 1/2 inch shank.

I have one in my table. Replaced the M12V.

I really like it's ease of use.
