Walnut candy bowls

I've started making a few small bowls to fill with my wife's homemade Christmas candy and give out to neighbors and friends. These two came from the firewood pile. I was cutting up wood yesterday for my son to take home and burn and I found a few small pieces that weren't too cracked. The first one is a log/slab bowl, 11" x 7.5"x 3" with a 6" bowl. The second one is really pretty wood (you'll have to trust me despite my crappy photo skills) with a little crotch feather, 8" x 2.5"

Curt, you are right about the second bowl, but that first one ain't too shabby!! Really some nice work, and a good save on the firewood.

They will sure look good with some homemade candy! You gotta love this time of year.:)

Curt, I like that the Walnut is very dark and gives the bowls a very rich and elegant look. I have some walnut that is like that and some of it is almost truly "Black"
