Hello all. I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving evening. This bowl is from a Bird's Eye Maple stump dyed with analine dyes and finished with Wipe On Poly. It is about 11' X 3 ". I have a trouble getting the color to show up well on the photos. The colors in natural light are shade of blue green. Comments and critiques welcome.

Marc,
Job well done..... I really like the shape and the rim.

Nice form, and looks like the finish is very good. I can see the color you describe, but looks like the white balance/exposure may be off a bit on the pics. That may be part of the problem.

Marc, I really like the form and especially the rim here. Photos make it difficult to comment on more. Good job!:)

Looks like a beautiful piece. I'd love to see it in person.

Marc nice bowl and the rim treatment is spot on. Hard for me to see the color.

Ditto on all the aforementioned comments especially the rim treatment. I very much like the dye effect and must try this sometime soon.

Much better! And, the pic seems better focused, too. I like the color on this - it really makes the burl pop.

Great looking bowl Marc - I remember it from our Turning Club meeting!

Here's a snapshot I took of it at that time and I believe the color is closer to normal.

Thanks for the critiques and suggestions. I need to work on the photography and the white balance has been suggested to me before. Thanks Jon, for making it clearer. I would like to have the colors and figure show up in photos like they do when viewed directly but have struggled. I'll keep on trying. Thanks again.

Thanks Steve. You do a nice job with the camera. I need to get together with you and get some pointers.

Marc,
If you re a AAW member, there is an article in one of the forums discussing how to set up light for good photos. It is worth a look.
