Wow can't believe how time flies! Tomorrow I will be heading over to the Port Townsend School of Woodworking for 5 days with Chris Schwarz....a 35 minute ferry ride from Whidbey Island for me and I will be there...

I think it will be a lot of fun and I am sure will learn lots! Taking my motorhome over and will be staying at the campground adjacent to the school. There is a potluck dinner on the beach on Wednesday which should be a blast as well...the weather has been perfect up here in the great NW...about time since July was absolutely miserable!
Oh and the Wooden boat festival starts this Friday as well....looks great...LN, Lee Valley, Chris Schwarz and others will be presenting!!

It's been a quick year Jim....
Have fun at the two classes. I'm sure you will learn a ton.
And it's a good thing your taking your motor home.
Can't have too much storage space to put all the loot you will be bringing home..

A few weeks ago I attended the week long hand tool class with Christopher Schwarz and 9 other hand tool enthusiasts. It was an absolute blast! Chris is a lot of fun and does a great job instructing and helping individuals out. If you ever have a chance to take a class with Chris I would jump on the opportunity! The way this class worked is we built a saw bench and then an English Square. Chris shares so many "nuggets" (as one classmate calls them) as we built these two projects. These nuggets alone were worth the price of admission.
Fort Worden, where the school is located, is a very interesting place. If you have not seen this video take a look...it is pretty cool! I am in there some where ;)

What is the cost of these classes?

George,

They are not cheap and depending on "who" the instructor is the classes run ~$150 a day. With that in mind there was quite a waiting list for the classes I took with Chris.
