This hf is about 9x7 with an additional 2 1/2" with the ebonised cherry finial added. Has a half dozen coats of home brew DO and waiting to be buffed...Bill...

Another beautiful piece, William. I guess when I get a little more confidence in the taller form, I need to move toward collars and a (gasp) finial.
BTW, that wood is outstanding!

I don't know how one could achieve a better form than this........curves are perfect from top to bottom, and the entire shape just flows without interruption.

The lid is elevated to distinguish it from the body, but keeps the transition of the form flowing from bottom to top.

Simple and elegant finial, correctly proportioned. I don't see how to improve on your form William. Your eye for this and others I have seen of your work are just exquisite!
