This is just plain plastic. Where's the best place to order some and i"m sure it's not called just plain plastic. Could someone please point me in the right direction and what exactly is it called? Could someone give me an idea of what to charge. They are 1X3/4X1/8. The lettering will change but not that many times. Sorry I have so many questions but the laser is not for business and I'm just not used to it. Thank you

You can get laser engravable plastic from Johnson Plastics and JDS Industries among others.

I would be at about $2.50 each for the labels.

It looks as if the edges have a bevel. If you don't have a beveler or a tool
that will help, I usually put a a border around it so it does give the "bevel affect"

The plastic is almost positively acrylic.

Johnsons has Rowmark that's black and engraves white.

I do similar plaques with plain black acrylic and white paint filling the recessed areas. Cheap and effective.

Rowmark does not offer laser engravable 1/8" black/white material, that I am aware of. Only one I know of that does 1/8" is IPI.

Rowmarks LaserMax series LM942-402 is 1/8".
My question is why 1/8" for a such a small label. 1/16" would be my choice.

maybe it's not Rowmark then. I know I ordered a sheet of black plastic that engraved white from Johnsons (I actually used it today) but I forgot what type it was:confused:

Hey, that's good to know. Maybe it wasn't that they didn't make it, but maybe it was that I couldn't find anyone that stocks it. Now I see it's in the Johnson catalog. Oh, I remember now. It's JDS that didn't carry it, so when I ordered, the only way to get 1/8" from them was to order the IPI product. Maybe that was the issue.

I do see the material now. I'll have to give some a try and see if I like it better than the IPI.

Rowmark / IPI it is all one happy family anyway. Product formulation may be bit different as well as cost to us.
Fwiw, IPI is a division of Rowmark now days.

Thanks all. Tony, I was just handed the label & asked to give a price. I've got to put a small hole in them so they can be attached to a speaker. I measured and posted the dimensions.

Thanks again
