Just a shot of the batch of boxes that I got rolling on in March. These were made starting the first weekend of March, through last weekend. There are two missing, taken by the recipients before I thought to take pics. One of the missing ones is blood wood and tulip, box over box. A lift off box on a box base. Semi secret compartment. The other was a slide top of kingwood, bookmatched top, in a maple box.
Just got this urge to make a bunch of different boxes and to kind of see how quickly I could do it to my satisfaction. Got the technique down to about an hour for a simple box from rough stock to ready to apply finish, then that slow process. Just can't push finnishing. Takes two hours for one box, 2 1/2 for two. Figure if I did four, coud finish all in three hours.
