I made up a story board so I could get the dimensions right, and took it up to the shop and started in.. made 6 sizing cuts and on the 7th one got partway down, and said to myself; "self, that looks too small". Turning accurate multiples of anything is one of the most difficult turning challenges in my limited experience.

I always remind myself they won't be exact but close.

All I can say is that I really should know the difference between 2-5/16" and 1-5/16", and set my calipers at the correct one...

I say cut it apart and add a contrasting wood for a cool stripe.
