Vinyl/ Buna-N Foam. Has anyone cut this? Itis Mcmaster # 1833T47.

I have a customer that wants me to cut 4 sheets of it. Easy quick job. I want to make sure on the toxicity of it first.

Thanks,
Wil

If the Buna-N foam is the same material used for gaskets (nitrile), I wouldn't recommend burning it because it produces HCN (hydrogen cyanide). As far as vinyl goes, never burn it!

That should be a die cut job. The gas produced as mentioned by Chris is not only toxic but corrosive to the laser.

Thanks for the recommendations. I will tell them no then.

If I remember my old diving suit materials, Buna-N is a chemblown foam, where G2-31N was a closed cell nitrogen blown foam and safe to burn as far as I know..
It's made/distributed by Rubatex International.. Info is below, including MSDA sheets
