Performax

Hi...

Been looking at drum sanders, and found a used dual drum (closed end) Performax for a good price, which I am considering.

I know Performax is a big seller, so must be good, but if you have one how do you like it? How does it compare to any other brands you have used? Does it have any serious problems?

Also, how is the dust collection?

I love my Performax 16-32. I find dust collection to be quite good, and man I like that machine.

I use my planer to get within about 1/32 and then to get to the exact thickness, i run it thru the Performax.


It does take a while to get the hang of what grade belt to use, but once you have figured that out, (and burned a few belts) you'll be in heaven.

Not familiar with the dual drum, closed end but I just purchased a 16-32 and really like it. It gives me the ability to sand very small, thin items with consistency. I'm finding new ways to use it with every project, it seems.
