Just love learning about new things.
What internet sites do you like to visit to learn new things. Any subject.
Just looking for something to read and learn. (Other than woodworking)

Dave,

many sites offer political discussion...you just have to pick the flavor that suits you. if you like computer related stuff...MS applications, computer troubleshooting, programming. It's all out there....just waiting for you. :D

Dave - that's a pretty open ended question you've posed. It seems like regardless of the topic of interest, the number of related sites is staggering. Not all are worthwhile but there's enough information to overflow my capacity. At last check, I had about 34 bytes of functional RAM left in my brain on good days. A few areas I use to suck up time are cooking/sausage making/bread making, sport kites, contract bridge and amateur astronomy. I've never gotten near the bright lights at the end.

What I was interested in was any hobbies one may have an interest in they enjoy.
For example, I got to reading one night about Coleman Lanterns. The forums collectors use was an interesting read. When they were made, what models were worth money and why.

I find Wikipedia is often a good place to start. Even if the Wiki article is lousy, it will usually have some good links for further reference.

I used to read a web site called "Damn Interesting". Although the prose was seriously lacking, the information was in fact very interesting. Last I checked, there hadn't been any new articles posted for many months. But you might find the archives worthwhile.

I like the www.artofmanliness.com (http://www.artofmanliness.com) A lot of politically incorrect thinking and ideas of the past. Not an obnoxious site; just from a different time.

That is a TOPIC, I got into it in the "stone age" about 23 years ago. I have a friend that just got into it, I invited him over to check out my "library" over 200 books on every topic reef from then to now he almost passed out.

For pure surfing I like to go to Wikipedia and just start with a search for anything, although not everything on Wiki is fact or well written it does take you in all manner of directions.

If yr interested in more hobbies - from tiling to investing - then personally, I like forums best. You quickly find out who the experts are.
