Based on a lot of good information I have cut the arcs in my project & they look pretty good, I now need to cut a notch, one inch wide & two inches deep & am wondering about the best way to do it? I'm thinking maybe a dado blade? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dennis

Small hand saw, and a chisel?

Most times I "notch" with a sabersaw. Sometimes I will drill a hole back at the end of the notch, then cut two lines back to the hole. Then i'll just square up the end with the sabersaw. Also have done a notch or two with the bandsaw. I cut the two ends first, and then cut a curve from one end to the bottom of the other cut. I flip the board around, cut back to the first cut to square the "bottom" of the notch. About four cuts, usually, on a good day.
