The same person that gave me the oak burl I made my nested set from gave me a call last week to say he had a walnut tree if I was interested. It had to be cut to protect a home which it threatened. He dropped this crotch piece off at my school shop to start on. This crotch was cut 40' from the base of the tree. I went and looked at the rest of the tree and could not believe how large it was. It is over 36" at the base and about 40' long. I talked to the the home owner and he said he would be glad for me to get it out of his way. As soon as I get some help to get it loaded on my trailer, I will bring it home.

Jack that is some good looking walnut. That haul ought to keep ya in turning wood for a day or two.

Nice piece of wood. Looks like it would take a little planning as how to best cut that one up!
