First of all this is a spectacular piece of Mallee burl from Issac. It was big, in fact I had to rotate the head on my lathe, and use the outboard unit to get down to size to fit over the ways. This piece is so nice that I think with the right turner/technique it may have won. Well it may have won with the exception of 1, 2...ok maybe 4, or 5 of the other entries.:) Anyway, help me out here. What should I have done different?

Not sure why, but I can't seem to get the pics to download again.

Ray, this bowl has a very rustic character to it, and some beautiful color. I had suggested to you previously that I would have taken a Dremel and reworked the edge all around to end up with a NE. For me, the partially turned edge effects the balance a little. A smaller and lower base would have showcased the bowl a little better, too.

Overall - a very well done piece!
