I recently purchased a DeWalt scroll saw with a "Type 1" motor.

Besides being older than a "Type 2" motor, what is the difference in the motor and the saws??

Pros/Cons?

Thanks,
Jim

I am no expert but believe the Type one saw was manufactured in Canada. (Considered the one to have) The type 2 made over seas. No difference in the two saws. Just where it was made.
The dewalt saw was designed and first manufactured by Excalibur in Canada. That saw in now also sold under the Delta name.

Thanks Dave.

That sheds some light on the subject.
