Liam,
When you buy, or get a quote, make sure they give you the TOTAL cost including shipping and any hazmat fees they charge. Laserbits seemed to have the best price a while back but when you add in their $25.00 shipping fee it put them a little bit higher than anyoen else. Jorlink was the only one who gave me that info and told me exactly what the bill would be for the order. Even if everyone else would match Jorlink, I'll buy from them because they told me the whole truth.

Thanks for the input...I've checked the various sources and it seems lazerbits is the lowest cost right now even with the hazardous charge....there is someone on EBAY selling it for about the same price ($219 for the 500mg) before shipping and surcharge...they call themselves the lazerbits outlet but seem a bit suspicious....I guess I'll go with lazerbits for now...

No matter how you cut it...this stuff is expensive...there has to be a cheaper way to do this!

I guess its all relative. I think its worth the price for a consistent mark. 500 mg watered sown with denatured alcohol will last you a LONG time. Unless you doing large quantities os something in which case you should be looking into a YAG laser.

Some here say the dilution is as low as 10:1 DNA to Cermark.

For the minute amount it takes to actually make a mark it's pretty darn cheap. The expensive part is everything around the mark that you wash away... If the cost of the Cermark is anything more than a very small percentage (1%-2%) of the cost of your job then you are not charging enough. I'd bet that most of the things I mark have a markup of 10,000% based on the cost of the Cermark, the cost is almost nothing. Of course, I thin it about 10-1 and spray it on so thin it's hard to believe it works.
