A good craftsman is on that uses his tools. Not to be judged by the tools he uses.:)

Amen, brother! And furthermore...a good craftsman is one who can do good work regardless of the tool he's given, as long as he gets a chance to tune it to his liking. He can make the humblest tool sing like the angels. She can, too!

Right on! Nor should we judge a man by the clothes he wears, and Nor should we judge a woman by the color of her hair.

Now that video is entirely too cool!!! Here I always thought it was the opposable thumb that set us apart from other species, turns out it's the opposable big toe as well!

A couple of other cool bow lathe videos showed up on the suggestions list alongside this one. I'm definitely going to have to try this!

First off-Harumph to the tools don't make the craftsman statement.
That video is way cool! Thanks for sharing it!

Some of us just don't have the eye foot coordination to accomplish such things.

My crappy, no name chisels do cut just as well as their highfalutin, big name counter parts.

My body would likely cramp up terribly after trying to turn out chess pieces like that all day long.

I like to watch that video every once in a while for a nice portion of Humble pie.

This is the specific video I was thinking about when I referenced the art in a post last week. I wasn't happy with my turnings on my pole lathe and was thinking getting a machine. Somehow I came across this video and got my answer...its not the lathe, .ITS ME!!

Wonder if he has ever cut his toe.
