hmm....nah...I better not go there. :D :D

I hope to get a little time to mess with the plane later this week. Can't wait to try in on the gnarly QS white oak. Sure hope the HA blade can tame this dang wood!!

Ironically Mark I've had the stinkin' HA blade for neearly a month with no plane to put it in. LV sure got bombarded this Christmas. Sounds like they can't make them fast enough. I'm sure Rob is smiling.

You're going to love that plane, Terry. I still need to get the HA blade one of these days.

Pretty all by itself...isn't it. I'm a little jealous...but no real complaints. DrLOML said she is working on my LV WishList and this is next on the list, but they were sold out.

However, she got me - The Complete Aubrey/Maturin Novels by Patrick O'Brian...which are the absolute best of the best sea novels...and Build a Shaker Table w/Kelly Mehler DVD instead. I wish I had bought the DVD a long time ago. It's great!

Now...How are you going to attach the dust collecting system to your new machine?

Thanks Ed!!!

Glenn,

Books and DVD's do not equal planes. :D Sounds like a nice gift anyway. I have the Mehler table video. It is really good. That's what started all the grain matching stuff I do now. I have taken a couple fof Kelly's classes. They are super. Kelly is a great teacher.

Steve,

Cheryl is NOT too good to me and don't you be tellin' her that. I've got her fooled. I don't need your help. :D :D :D

Payton is doing fine now. Just got released from the doctor to go back to work!!! Yipeee!!! The last 3 months have 'bout broke me. He is a very expensive habit.

Hey, that rocks, Terry! That and the Med. shoulder plain are both on my short list. Be sure to drop another line out here after testing it out on some of that difficult grain! Congrats!:)

Merry Christmas

OK, here I've got to object on general principles. Sometimes books and videos/dvds are far more valuable than more tools.

I was just attempting to be funny Pam. Apparently I didn't accomplish it.

I think I overreacted, due to a basic problem with gloating.

Hi Terry -

I'd really be smiling if we had stock....we're in a pretty deep hole right now, and it'll take two or three weeks to get out of it ... not just one plane either - virtually all of them.

We certainly appreciate the patience people have shown. We ordered another mill and more surface grinders a few weeks ago....

Cheers -

Rob, ya make a good product, take care of your customers better than any firm in the business and the sales reflect it! Running out is a good thing, in my book under those conditions. Those of us who will have to wait willl be willing to do so, too...

Happy Holidays!

Greg

Greg,

I'm probably not the one to be answering this question but as I understand it the Low angle is very good for end grain and shooting miters etc.. The plane is a bevel up plane so substituting the high angle blade for the regular one gives you a 50 deg cutting angle which should greatly reduce tearout on tough woods. That is why I bought it. I got some that is fightin' me and I'm determined to win!!! LV says that increasing the micro bevel resulting in a 60 deg cutting angle is even better.

I'll get some time to play with it this weekend. I'll report back on how it does.
