I turned this piece about a month ago to use in a club demo using my 10 minute finish. I turned the finial a week or two ago. This week I did the lid. The finial is blackwood and the lid is pear and walnut. I dyed the walnut with india ink but didn't care for it so I burnt the pattern. Finish is antique oil and buffed. It measures 7" dia. x 14-3/4" to the top of the finial which is 5-3/8". Thanks for looking ! All comments/critiques welcome.

Very nice Keith! A classic form, excellently done! Nice finial as well. Bradford pear is pretty, when one can keep it from cracking. The small foot gives the piece lift and the top is well done, and the entire curve on the piece is continuous.......not always an easy accomplishment.......this is first rate for sure.

Wow!! Is the blackwood on the lid textured, or am I catching something else? Either way, I can't do that so it's great to me!

Nice piece. Do you have anymore information on the 10 minute finish?

Keith, very nice work, as always!! I just scored some Bradford Pear log sections recently - someday perhaps I will try something with them! Lot of inspiration here.

Jim, I think the lid was some pyro work on dyed walnut from what Keith said in his post.

Lovely piece Keith. I really like the "appearance" of a black band between the body and the crown. Nice effect...Bill...
