A Pen Stand and pen for my mate Steve who keeps me upright as a Chiro.
His dad was a patternmaker and Steve grew up with a love of timber.
The base is Mallee Burl, the top a stylised vertebrae bone from 3000 yr old Huon Pine Burl from Tasmania from a huge tree that grows only cm,s a yr., the coin a 20 cent from his birth year. He was very noisy and happy when he received it yeasterday. I had previously made him a pen with an inset Soccer Ball as he plays in a Masters Comp during the footy season.
The pink Pen in Conkerberry from the Northern Territory about 200 yrs grown.
