....with my Whitaker jersey, fitted Tigers cap from 1984, and a beer, and sit in the seats I got from Tiger Stadium when they tore it down.

From The Detroit News:

Former Tigers manager Sparky Anderson is seriously ill. In a message released today by his family, it was learned that the 76-year-old Hall of Fame manager who guided the Tigers to their 1984 World Series championship "has been placed in the care of hospice at his home in Thousand Oaks, California, for complications resulting from dementia."

I am saddened by Sparky's passing. I had a chance to meet him when I lived in Seattle. A gracious and kind man. He passed on today in the city where I work. I hoped to meet him in the grocery store.
