I don't often do miniatures. Here's a goblet that I did a while back. As you can see, the foot and bowl are smaller than a dime. The stem is less than 1/16th in. Got carried away with the bowl and almost went through it. You can see light through the walls. The photo isn't the best, but what you see is what you get.

That's pretty careful turning! What is the wood?

Wally, that is phenomenal! The form is perfect, and <1/16" is THIN!!!! How do you avoid flex in the spindle on something that size?

Thanks John. When doing very thin spindle turnings I hold a couple fingers on the piece, almost behind the tool. Can be done with the hand over the top but the safer way is to curl the fingers under the toolrest.

That's insane! I'm not even gonna ask... Ok never mind. Do you do that with "standard" tools or do you have like a miniature captured rig for hollowing out the cup?

Wally that is quite the goblet. I am not sure I would have the patience to do that.
