I have looked thru the manual and cannot find what these are supposed to be used for....

I don't have mustard but looks to me like the spur drive and the tailstock? Looks long, but that's what it looks like to me.

Brent,

If you are duplicating something and have the original, those go in the "arms" or brackets on the rear of the lathe to hold the "original" so you can see it and measure it while you turn the copy.

They arms are the same ones that the shield goes into....

All this is based on an old man's memory.....I could be wrong.

I found an online manual. Those are "comparator centers" list as part "S" at the parts listing at the beginning.

You can see them being used in a photograph on page 17 of the manual.

ok, that makes sense. Especially since I havent even mounted the extra bracket. I guess these will go into the parts drawer with the other stuff.

I just leave mine on their brackets and every now and then hang stuff on them.

I mounted the brackets and use them as a place to clamp lights. Thus I have light shining on both sides of my turnings while turning.

These brackets work very well, I use them when duplicating long spindles. The first time I used them, it surprised that they made it alot more effecient to check and line up. I don't like to leave the support mounted on the tailstock, so most of the time it sits on a shelf. Not true on the headstock end; I leave a work platform loaded with numerous tools, abrasives, etc. mounted on it with a 5/8 shaft.
