Hartville Hardware is building a new home for its retail business. Over 240,000 square feet and located next to the Hartville Kitchen, this new location will be roughly 1 mile west of the current building and on the north side of Ohio Hwy 619. If you are familiar with the area and know where the Hartville Kitchen Restaurant is, it will be next door and to the west. The building is scheduled to open in 2012. Should be an amazing place. We here in NE Ohio are lucky to have 2 world class woodworking businesses, Hartville Hardware/Hartville Tool and Keim Lumber in Charm, Ohio.

That's great news for us up here... I can't wait to see what they add in that extra space...I hope it is more woodworking tools.

I shop there at least twice a week. Hmmm.... maybe I could get a job there after the new store is open so I could play with the tools all the time.

I believe the plan is to move the mail order to operation there too which means even more ww stuff on display. It's going to be a BIG store!

The good news - they are expanding!
:)

The not so good news - it won't happen until 2012 & I retire in 2011 so my tool budget is going to drop quite a bit..
:(

On the bright side - by 2012 I might be stir crazy enough w/being retired I could work there PT :)

Also the place for good rust hunting at the flea market on the same property. I have found some amazing stuff there.
This could have the possibility of becoming the Graceland of woodworking.

Good deal! I just hope their prices don't go up to pay for the new building!

I dont think that will happen. They are very aware of online prices. I have purchased items there and commented that I felt it was a fair price and was told that they watch Amazon and other online pricing closely because they know if prices aren't fair, people take their business elsewhere. This is in the woodworking tools department. I cant speak of the other departments there.

They have this architectural rendering on their web site:

And another story:

This article says there's going to be two floors with the lumberyard on a lower level. Those who know the site know there's a pretty good hill there so they can have an entrance on that level. It also says there's going to be three complete houses inside the store.

That is sweet. I can get my John Deere clothing and lawn supplies...walk over get my woodworking tools and then continue on to set up the back patio. Awesome.

And with all that's going on they are still on top of taking care of their customers. I ordered a couple of items last night and they already shipped. :)
