I came across some buckeye that was harvested in 1963. It surely is dry. The shavings were nearly dust, like when one is sanding a product. heh eheh When there were shavings, they were tiny chips; the many small imperfections really made it interesting.

Except for the pedestal it kinda looks like an exotic flower with a pink stamen in the center of the bud. What is the "stamen" made from, Cedar? Is the "stamen" a cap/lid?

A very unique and nice looking vessel

A most unusual piece of wood..........nice pedestal.........the wood is showing its age :D........you did a great job on turning.........that piece of wood is a face only a mother could love :D........you did a great job on the turning! I suppose the politically correct way to speak of that wood is it has character!

That piece of buckeye gives "gnarly" a whole different meaning!! And, character is an understatement.

Nice work on the goblet and stem. I don't really care for the cedar combo, and not sure but what it wouldn't look better without the finial/lid.

That's some wild looking wood. Nice job on the goblet, but I agree with John about the lid.
