Just bought a larger bandsaw for resawing and was wondering on blades what a good TPI for hardwoods?

Check Glenn's links for lots of good recommendations.

3 tpi is pretty much the most common. Brand loyalty is all over the map.

In general, you want at least 3 but no more than 10 teeth in the cut at a time when resawing, to allow for chip clearing. However, it is difficult to get fewer than 3tpi on most common bandsaw blades. I really like the 2-3 or 3-4 tpi variable pitch blades. They seem to cut smoother because the teeth tend to chatter less, but they are quite aggressive.

I'll add that I like to use a large blade (1"). They do not deflect as much.
