I'm interested in making some at Christmas presents. They look great but I'm not so sure about that threaded insert that goes into the end grain. I tend to put a lot of pressure on a pizza cutter.

Couldn't is come unscrewed if the user slips?

Is the threaded insert really secure?

thanks,
Roger

I like the cutter from woodturnerscatalog. It is also a lot cheaper.

I made a new handle for the 1 I have. So it was a lot like the kit from craft supplies Here (http://www.woodturnerscatalog.com/store/Projects___Kitchenware___Pizza_Cutter___pizza_cutt er?Args=)

I found this (http://www.hiltonhandcraft.com/woodturningtoolsaccessories.asp)and am going to buy a couple to turn for gifts. Scroll down about 1/3 of the page. $2.50

I've not made one. But of all of them, I think the Rockler one looks the coolest.

I bought one when they first had them in the store, been sitting on a shelf ever since. :) Its pretty big and heavy. Seems well built. Can't make up my mind what kind of handle to put on it.
