Are there any engravers out there who are opting for this method of engraving? Please discuss.

Frank,
I'll be using this method when my tube dies. A very effective and cost saving method I must say. Thanks for sharing

Turn-around time must be a bear! Though I have to admit... at the speed that girl is moving, it actually appears to be nearly as fast as our laser.

I thought about buying one of those.......but they didn't offer a rotary attachment.

Mike, your friend does lovely work, similar to Leslie Pyke all engraved with small drills. I used to engrave glasses this way, time consuming but quite therapeutic.

One thing, I guess there are no software issues!:D

I'm digging the method but I am unsure about the upgrades..

Chuck,

I don't think you managed to finish even those four...

I tried it before I got the laser but I was only able to get like 5-6DPI... and I needed a trashcan for exhaust...

That seems to be a lost art!! The local monument company had a fella that used to do photos on grave markers for them. He had no apprentice.. His work was amazing..Then he suddenly died!!! The company that contracted him to do the work was pretty well left in the lurch.. I did some smaller inserts for them, but could not help them with the big heavy stuff.. I think they bought a gantry type laser, but don't know for sure.. I usually only get over there once every couple of years to raid their rock pile..
