I love that look! You've got that burned thing down... if my wife saw me with a torch in the garage, the FD would be there in 5 mins..... ok, 25 mins.

The hardest part for me was getting the burned area back to smooth. I sand to 400 grit , then burn, then sand in tung or blo

The CA finish im still learning, but these items were done using no sandpaper/micro mesh after the CA glue was applied, just a paste swirl and scratch remover then Hut crystal coat

Ken, that really works with the Osage!! I have not turned a variety of woods, but this technique would surely be a real addition to some others, as well.

Ken they look great! One suggestion on the burned osage that works really well....Sanding sealer. After burning on my calls I asand with 600 grit, then hit the wood with compressed air to clear the charcoal dust. I then apply three or four applications of homebrew sanding sealer on the lathe, then sand with 600 grit. The sanding sealer really helps seal up the burned wood's grain and makes it take finish better.

Looks like you got that finish to work really well!
