Received my new DVR XP today. Little help from the neighbor got her onto the bench and we're making shavings.

I got that one! I like mine just fine. Seems to do fine for everything I've thrown at it. I did mount a piece of drill rod along the toolrest that helped quite a bit.

Congrats. I have had mine now for 3 yrs. No problems and it has had some big pieces on it with no problems.

Congrats Clint that is a fine lathe. You might want to get some spacers under the bed mount bolt holes to raise it off the work bench. Makes life easier cleaning up. (DAMHIKT)

Maybe we need to form a DVR cult, errr, club.

We're not quite as vocal as Team 46-460, but we smile quietly to ourselves.

I have this lathe. Unfortunately, I received one of them that had the "low voltage/shutdown" problem with every little catch. I sent the electronics to the TechnaTool service center, and Tim fixed the problem. It runs like a champ now, and I like it. Somebody mentioned lifting it up on spacers to facilitate cleaning. That is a good idea. Somebody else added a drill rod to the tool rest, another good idea. The tool rest is pretty soft. I was always filing dents out of mine. Finally replaced it with a Jeff Nicol rest, and no more problems. Enjoy it, I do now that it runs like it was to designed to run.
