I turned my first platter today. It is red oak and is 9" x 5/8" at the highest point on the ring and the rest is 1/4" thick.

This is going to a lady across the street that is having us over for pot luck tonight.

This was fun to make but as a friend said, they go to fast and your done. :D

I also finished up the last presents for the wife and daughter. Satin bells and candle holders.

So Dick, when you gettin' rid of all your flatwork tools?!:D Got a list handy I can reference and be ready when you put them up for sale?:) Hey, seriously, nice job on the platter and the rest of the gifts! I know all will be thrilled with them!:cool:

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. This platter was fun and it won't be the last one I make. :D

Last nights host really did like the platter and now she wants another one. Darn, now I will have to go out to the shop again. :D :D :rolleyes:
